Good VacationMy friend lives in Central Louisiana and the thrift shopping here is
awesome. That's a large part of what we did yesterday. Thursday night we went to a "Christmas Open House" event on the main street of her town; I thought it was too early for Christmas, but I was wrong. The homemade decorations, the lights, the Christmas sweaters... it all revived some long-ago childhood Christmas memory of visiting my grandparents in my mother's Tennessee hometown. Just lovely.
I found a wonderful pair of boots in the Goodwill that didn't have a price tag on them - the woman at the checkout counter wouldn't ring them up, saying that they had to be priced, so we are going back to get them today. I hope they're still there.
